Textile Relief painting
2024/25
4 part panel with “frozen” textile and gouache. These works are about transforming one material into another - the soft textile material gets to mimic ceramics or stones. And close up you then see all the soft qualities. The work is like a map - of the road to new places. A turmoiled journey from one city to the another, from one life to another. It is about growth and possibilities. There are references to classic tapestry with its borders and ornaments. I have moved close to the castle Kronborg, the home of Hamlet in Elsinore, and here I have found inspiration in the Kings Carpets and the classic plays of Shakespeare.
